Manuscripts, Poems, and Other Visual Art

We accept submissions for full-length books of poetry (50-70 pages), our Got Poetry? series (experimental chapbooks, 20-50 pages), as well as single poems and visual artwork for our online magazine and blog.

For questions about our style, please read some of our collections available through our online store. More references: think beat, bohemian, wild, at times prophetic, venturing into absurd, yet also naked and vulnerable and sincere. We like quiet moments as well as housefires.

Some poets we love (in no particular order): Frank Stanford, Hera Lindsay Bird, Brenda Hillman, Li-Young Lee, Maggie Nelson, Tommy Pico, Zachary Schomburg, Hanshan, Yusef Komunyaka, Li Bai, Mathias Svalina, Jennifer L. Knox, Gary Snyder, PW Covington, and many more.

All submissions are reviewed through our Submittable account. We do not accept paper or email submissions. We do charge a submission fee for manuscripts and submissions to the magazine, but submissions for the blog are free.

The Blog

We are open to submissions of pretty much anything for the blog, especially book reviews from indie presses and essays on currently relevant topics. But also dance videos, memes, etc. Please make it weird. And don’t forget to tag on a brief third person bio for yourself at the end of your blog submission.

Also, we will publish any poem about milk sent to us for the blog (why not? life is short, write about milk) as long as the milk poem is [1] clearly marked as a milk poem in the title of the blog submission document, [2] is actually about milk and not an allegory or metaphor to something else, and [3] isn’t hurtful toward anyone or anything, to the broadest extent of the definition.

Please visit our Submittable page for more detailed instructions on how to submit.

We can’t wait to see what you send us!
